Ashley L. Karel is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.  She treats patients across the lifespan, including children and adolescents, for all psychiatric illnesses.

​

Karel studied microbiology at Mississippi State University prior to earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Mississippi School of Nursing in 2008. Upon graduation, she worked in various health care settings as a registered nurse, spending time in multiple nursing disciplines before discovering her passion for working with patients suffering psychiatric disorders.

​

She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University Of Mississippi School Of Nursing in 2011, graduating with highest honors.  Since that time she has enjoyed practicing in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In addition to her clinical practice, she also spent more than three years as an instructor at the University of Mississippi School of Nursing’s Graduate School where she taught other aspiring Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners.

Karel is licensed by the Mississippi Board of Nursing and accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
