Mark Rester, M.D.
Psychiatrist
Dr. Mark Rester is a board-certified psychiatrist originally from Clinton, Mississippi. Prior to his medical training, he served in the US Navy and later the Naval Reserves. He is trained in both general psychiatry as well as child and adolescent psychiatry. He has served as medical director in a variety of inpatient psychiatric treatment locations including Simpson General Hospital, Covington County Hospital, and Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He is a consultant to a variety of outpatient treatment programs such as Catholic Charities of Jackson, Canopy Children’s Services, and the Baptist Children’s Village.
Dr. Rester received an undergraduate degree in Biology from Mississippi College. Afterward, he attended the University of Mississippi School of Medicine obtaining a Doctorate of Medicine in 1998. He served his intern year in psychiatry at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, then completed general psychiatry and child fellowship back home at UMMC.
